100 pounds.........

....is what I've lost in the past 12 months.

It was this time last year that my daughter had her most recent surgery. When we got home from it, I decided I needed to change something. I was tired of being uncomfortable in my own skin. Two babies, and a whole lot of comfort eating later, I was wearing a size 24 and weighing in at a whopping 280 pounds. That's an awful lot for my little 5'2" frame to carry around.

Yesterday, I weighed myself and realized I have lost a full 100 pounds. I now wear a size 14, and while I'm not yet to my goal weight, I'm very proud of how far I've come!

I hesitate to call what I've done a diet..... diet, to me, is something temporary. I had to change the way I eat.. the reasons I eat.... everything, from the inside out.

You look INCREDIBLE! This is such an inspiration to me! I've been slowly, but steadily gaining weight since I got married & I need to put a stop to it and lose those pounds. I'd love to hear more about the way you did it, because 100 pounds in 1 year is nothing short of amazing!

Quite often, as mothers, our own needs are pushed to the side, so we can take care of our children and family. I'm a big believer in taking time to take care of yourself.

How can we take care of those that we love, if we can't even take care of ourselves?

You look Ahhh-mazing! Congratulations! About 10 years ago I was in a size 26 and went to a 14...7 years, and 2 babies later I'm in a size 20 and its time for me to do something about it. I miss feeling good about myself, that feeling I had after losing all that weight and your post reminded me of that.

I too had to stop saying I was I was on a diet, I called it a way of life. I also stopped completely denying myself like I used to when I would diet...because then I felt like I was losing out on something and inevitably fell off the diet.

Keep up the great work and thank you for the jolt of inspiration!

Wow--you ROCK! I've had problems with weight most of my life. It's so hard to eat healthy and exercise...especially with kids!
Are you in any type of support group? When I try to do it alone, I don't do so well.
Thank you for sharing! Very cool!
