M's Birthday Parties.......

Ok, this is the post I wanted to complete, oh, a week ago. It's been a little crazy in my neck of the woods. R went to sleep-away camp yesterday, so we were getting ready for that. M did a soccer clinic everyday last week, and I just got back from a ten mile bike ride with D's boyscout troop.... I've taken nearly 600 photos in the last 48 hours from a shoot, for the YMCA, and a bunch of Macro shots. I'm beat!

So, the 24th was M's birthday, but the park that he wanted to have his party at was booked for an earlier time on that day. I, not wanting to have a room full of cranky 4 and 5 year olds, decided against booking the 5 - 8pm birthday party time, and instead opted for a much more family friendly 1 - 4pm party time the following Saturday. So, M wound up with two birthday parties..... one with family on his actual birthday, and the other with his friends a week later.

We had the family party at my Mom's house, and everyone had a blast! He was super-thrilled with all his presents!

Then, the day of his big party with his friends...... his first kid party ever!

He waited anxiously for everyone to arrive...

For the first part of his party, we all went and had fun on the playground. We let parents know that, if they wished to stay, siblings were more than welcome to come too! So, we had little brothers and big sisters, all having a blast!

I couldn't get enough of this little guy..... so cute! S really wanted to be friends with him!

Then we headed back to the party room to make visors, open presents, and have cake! M got some wonderful gifts, and the cake was a definite hit! We did one of those "pull the string" pinatas, but it didn't work! I thought the idea was genious, letting young kids have pinata fun without having to blindfold them and hand them a club....... but, well, it was kinda a let down. Though, that was quickly forgotten when I ripped the bottom out and everyone got to collect the candy!

Then, for the highlight of the party, everyone got tickets to go ride the kiddie rides! Lemme tell you, the kiddie whip is AWESOME!

He had a great time, and it was so cool seeing him interact with his buddies. He is getting so big, and this little boy makes my heart swell with pride everyday!

WOw!! What a week you had. I think I need a nap just reading about it :). Love your shots and the collages that you made. You are so creative. I am glad I had a chance to sit and catch up with you this Sunday morning. I am missing church this morning cause my little one is coughing, but it sounds like a baby seal...Still waiting to see that macro shot...heheheh
